![]() Its been almost 3 years since we have had a Light Heavyweight Champion whose name has NOT been Diaz. We don’t even have to explain to the #ACWFaithful why that is not just a major accomplishment, but a milestone in Maryland Wrestling. What started out as an upset of a future ACW Heavyweight Champion, turned in to the greatest championship title reign in the 6 year history of Adrenaline Championship Wrestling. Now just days beyond the 3rd year Anniversary of the beginning of his Light Heavyweight Championship reign, Diaz has an opportunity to capture the ultimate prize in ACW: the ACW Heavyweight Championship. Not surprisingly, the odds have never been better for the #miniBOSS. The ACW Heavyweight Championship is currently held by Sicend: the man formerly known as Skull and the man who Diaz defeated to capture the ACW Light Heavyweight Championship. In addition, Diaz has also defeated Skull on multiple occasions in several title defenses throughout his extensive championship reign. While Skull holds victories over Diaz as well, they are few and far between over the last 3 years. Diaz has improved by leaps and bounds since the summer of 2012 when he captured the championship. One reason for that would be the much improved physical conditioning of Diaz. When Diaz won the championship in 2012, he was in no way near the physical condition he is in today. After winning the Light Heavyweight Championship, holding on to the championship became a priority. Improving his in ring conditioning became an obsession. Instead of folding under the immense pressure and physical rigors of a championship run, Diaz seemed to get better and better as each title defense passed. Still, very few people took notice to how much he had improved. That was until he defeated one of the very best Light Heavyweights in the history of Maryland Wrestling and the man who happens to be the 3rd competitor in the October 17th ACW Heavyweight Championship match: Ruckus. When Diaz faced Ruckus earlier this past year, many predicted that it would be the end of his long title reign. In a back and forth contest including the distraction from a long-time rival in Robbie Illuminati, Diaz shocked the #ACWFaithful and defeated Ruckus to retain his Light Heavyweight Championship. It is a victory that the leader of BLK OUT most definitely has not forgotten. Ruckus has been one of the most successful wrestlers in Maryland Wrestling history, but the ACW Light Heavyweight Championship has been unattainable thus far. Now, Diaz finds himself in the unfamiliar role of challenger. Will the unfamiliarity contribute to coming up short for the biggest prize in ACW? Or will this be the beginning of yet another long title reign for the #miniBOSS? The only way to find out is to be there LIVE as ACW Presents: Fright Fest. Its all part of the #ACWFallFaithfulTour.
