At Broken Dreams, Pretty Ugly's Tag Team Championship run that lasted over a year came to an end at the hands of The Winners. Andy Vinberg's protégés fulfilled a year long journey to dethrone the most successful tag team in the history of Maryland Wrestling. Some would say the outlasted the competition in ACW seized the opportunity just at the right time. After all, so many tag teams have left the organization after failing to dethrone the former champions. Teams like THC, Country Strong, The D-line, Black Wall Street and Fed Up have all tried but failed to bring home the gold. Those teams left ACW after falling short of their goals. Now, it seems like tag team wrestling in ACW is short on competition. But if you believe that, think again. Over the next few months, the newly crowned tag team champions will have their hands full with the up and coming competition coming to ACW. These Tag teams perform a more high-impact style than the teams of years past. While you may not know them well now, a year from now you will. A year from now, the ACW Tag Team Championships will be held in the same high regard as the Light Heavyweight Championship, not a bold prediction but a FACT. It will be because of teams like the WildCardz, a team who has dominated the state of West Virgina for the past two years and are now ready to show Maryland what they're made of. You can just look at them and see blue chip talent written all over them. A team built on world class strength and conditioning to match their physical style in the ring, this team will be in the title conversation throughout all of 2014. It will be because of teams like Riot City's Most Wanted, who has never met a risk they weren't willing to take to win match. While the WildCardz are grounded and disciplined, Riot City is unpredictable and willing throw fear out the window to win a match. I see many match of the year candidates coming from these two teams this year. Last but not least, it will be because of teams like Pretty Ugly, who will not just trail off into the sunset like teams of years past. Do not think they take losing the tag team titles lightly, especially under the circumstances that it happened. Sooner or later, they will get their shot to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. The question is not if, but rather when it will be. Make no mistake, tag team wrestling is about to heat up in ACW. My advice to The Winners: get ready for war in 2014.
