A big night for The Winners at Broken Dreams

24 hours before Broken Dreams, if you would have asked anyone who would have the biggest night at ACW Broken Dreams, Riot City's Most Wanted would have been mentioned, Pretty Ugly would have been mentioned, maybe even D!@z would have been mentioned. 24 hours later, the competitors that everyone are talking about are the group that just 6 months ago were called "greenhorns" by this very blog: The Winners.

Thats right, NO ONE had a bigger night than The Winners on July 26th That's because NO ONE has dominated a single event in the history of ACW like The Winner's did. Andy Vineberg's stable of athletes were flawless from beginning to end. They dropped one member of their group only to upgrade the vacant spot just moments later, defeated a hardcore icon straight up, and won the group's first championship without missing a beat. Momentum was clearly in their favor all night long.

First, Andy Vineberg fired Shaun Cannon very unceremoniously. After Shaun Cannon failed to defeat Pat Anthony, The Winners proceeded to assault the Punk Rock All Star before firing him from the group. Just as we thought Pat Anthony would make the save, he ended up joining in on the assault before announcing to the world that he was joining The Winners. "I knew Cannon wouldn't get the job done," said Vineberg. "Like a pitcher with a dead arm, it was only a matter of time before I sent that loser's ass back to the minor leagues," he added. We attempted to get a statement from Pat Anthony, but have not heard back from him as of Monday.

Later on in the evening, Louis G Rich faced The Sandman in what everyone thought would be a complete bloodbath. It would be anything but that, as Louis G RIch defeated the former ECW Champion in a little over 3 MINUTES. That's right, it only took 3 minutes for Louis G Rich to defeat one of the single toughest men in the history of Pro Wrestling.... in near record time. Let that sink in....

Then, there was the icing on the cake. Andy Vineberg led Rayburn and Pat Anthony down the aisle to face the most decorated tag team in Maryland Wrestling history in Pretty Ugly. It was a hard fought contest by both teams. In the end, a former employee of ACW attacked Jimmy Dream and assisted The Winners in capturing the ACW Tag Team Championship.

The victory capped off a historic night for the group led by Andy Vineberg as they were absolutely flawless in all encounters throughout the night. Andy Vineberg and company made a statement at Broken Dreams. Winning just isn't enough anymore. The Winner's are looking to dominate ACW.

In addition to Sunny, Ricky Steamboat and Bret "Hitman" Hart, we have just received word that former WWE Tag Team Champion Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart has been added to the already impressive GoldRush lineup for October 10th. That's right folks, the original Hart Foundation will be making an appearance for Adrenaline Championship Wrestling.

The Hart Foundation, consisting of Bret "Hitman" Hart and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart are considered to be one of the greatest tag team combinations in the history of the WWE. The team has won the WWE Tag Team Championships 2 times during the golden era of wrestling in the 1980's. The team reunited again in 1997 along with Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, and Brian Pillman to form one of the most successful factions in WWE history before both men left the WWE with Davey Boy Smith for WCW following the Montreal Incident.

"We're very excited to have Jim on board for October 10th," said ACW Commissioner Mike Ratick. "Our fans are really going to enjoy this special meet and greet opportunity at one of our signature events," he later added. While this is yet another major announcement for ACW's October extravaganza, the commissioner made sure to state that "many more major announcements are coming."

More information regarding tickets will be available next Saturday night at ACW Broken Dreams as well as www.adrenalinewrestling.com. Stay posted for the latest updates.

Diaz: 1 win away from the promised land

For those who don't know, the ACW Light Heavyweight Championship has been held by the same person for over 2 years now. That person's name is "The miniBOSS" Diaz. For those that are counting, that is the longest title reign in Maryland Wrestling today. It hasn't been a cakewalk either. The champion has defended his title successfully against the likes of Shane "Swerve" Strickland, BLK JEEZ, Chris Wylde, Robbie Illuminati, 2013 King of Maryland Winner: Skull, and countless others. While all of those opponents impressive and all of those victories were hard-fought, a victory against his opponent at Broken Dreams next Saturday night would erase all doubt in anyone's mind that the champ is the greatest light-heavyweight in the State of Maryland today.

If you have been following Maryland Wrestling for the last 10 years, you may have heard of Diaz' opponent a few times. His name is Claude Marrow aka Ruckus, and he is considered to be arguably the most decorated light-heavyweight wrestler in Maryland Wrestling history. Ruckus has done it all in Maryland and has an impressive resume to prove it. He has won multiple Light-Heavyweight championships in the state as well as multiple Tag Team Championships. If that's not impressive, he even has a couple of CZW World Heavyweight Championships to add to that list. He has traveled the globe nationally and internationally for companies like MTV's Wrestling Society X as well as All-Japan Pro Wrestling. If that's not enough add tournament wins in the Shane Shamrock Cup as well as CZW's Best of the Best Tournament and well.... you get the picture.

Set all of the accolades and achievements aside, the most important thing here to remember is that Diaz in the two years that he has been champion has NEVER faced Ruckus in a title defense. That's right, the man who has raised the bar for the ACW Light Heavyweight Championship has never faced the most decorated light-heavyweight in the state and that's what makes this match interesting. A champion who has reached unprecedented levels of success versus a challenger with equally impressive accolades of his own. A win for Ruckus provides him with yet another impressive achievement and would mean the end of Diaz' championship run. There would be no shame in losing to an opponent the caliber of Ruckus. After all, a two year championship run is pretty damn impressive. However, a win for Diaz would cement his championship reign as one of the very best in the history of Maryland Wrestling. Next Saturday night, the ACW Light Heavyweight Champion goes to finishing school, and the only way to graduate is to leave with his championship.......
