by James Noland Happy New Year, everyone!! Its that time again where another year ends and a new one begins. If you read the last blog written by Commissioner Ratick, you know that there were a number of changes that took place in 2013. The landscape of ACW changed forever as stars such as Kindred, Diaz, and Skull all had breakout years. 2014 is upon us and it had me thinking about who to expect big things from in ACW this year. I came up with a list of 5 and an explanation for why I expect big things on the horizon for these talents. Skull![]() Yes, Skull had a great 2013. He won the King of Maryland Tournament, defeating Christian York, had the 2013 Match of the Year and has been in the ACW Heavyweight Title picture for practically the whole year. As good as this past year has been for Riot City's Most Wanted, I think that 2014 will be even stronger for the Unholy Enigma. I would not be surprised at all to see him once again become King of Maryland or even become ACW Heavyweight Champion. I really believe that Skull is just beginning to hit his stride in the wrestling industry. D!@z![]() I really thought we would see the end of "The MiniBoss'" Light Heavyweight Championship reign in 2013. It is January 2014 and I am writing this as D!@Z is STILL holding the championship. His last two victories have been very controversial. I was sure that Pat Anthony would win the title at Chaos in Carroll County, but D!@Z found a way to win. I was 100% certain that Robbie Marino would collect yet another title at Twas the Cage Fight before Christmas, but once again "The miniBOSS" found a way. Some will say its technicalities and some will cite shortcuts. Fact of the matter is that D!@Z has gone toe to toe with the very best that ACW has had to offer him and has come out on top every time. Once he realizes how good he really is, he is only going to get better. I think that is just starting to happen. Holding a championship for over 600 days will make a person realize a lot of things...... Prodigy![]() I say that the 2013 Most Hated Wrestler of the Year may just have a better 2014 than anyone else in ACW. Like Skull (who is also on this list) Prodigy was in the ACW Title picture for just about all of 2013. I really do believe that he could have been ACW Heavyweight Champion had it not been for a couple of bad breaks, some of which were caused by his out of control nature in the ring. If this guy gets focused, he could very well become ACW Heavyweight Champion by years end. I would put an entire years pay on it. Andy Vineberg and The Winners![]() Love him or hate him, Andy Vineberg has taken a group of greenhorns and turned them into legitimate title contenders in 2013. The sky is the limit for The Winners in 2014. I expect them to be permanent fixtures in the Tag Team Title picture in 2014 and beyond. Look for The Winners to keep winning in 2014. Pat Anthony![]() Right now, this man is caught up in a contract dispute after a loss to The Winners at Twas the Cage Fight Before Christmas. If the situation gets cleared up, expect big things out of "Mr Popularity" in 2014. This man could have ended the year as ACW Light Heavyweight Champion. However, much like Prodigy he fell victim to numerous bad breaks. I would not be surprised in the least if he is the man to defeat "The miniBOSS" D!@Z for his championship by years end. Who do you expect big things from in ACW this year? Comment below with your predictions..............
